CRJ-110 Introduction to Homeland Security

This course provides an overview of homeland security as a major contemporary issue in the public safety fields, and introduces the major themes and issues in homeland security. Students will examine the roles of the emergency management system, including public health and private sector participants. The course will review current legislation, civil liberties, intelligence gathering and counter terrorism initiatives, as well as provide a historical perspective and describe risk assessment and prevention techniques.
