BIO-119 Introductory Microbiology
This course introduces microbial life, including morphology, staining, genetics, physiology and biochemistry of bacteria, archaea, fungi, protozoa, algae and helminthes. Medical significance of these organisms is covered, as is the significance of viruses, prions and viroids. It is strongly recommended that students select one of the following courses prior to taking this course: BIO 111, CHM 111, or CHM 131. This course includes a laboratory component. Fee is required.
