FIS-216 Fire Service Academy II
This course studies basic built-in fire detection, alarm and extinguishing, including the examination of devices and systems installed in buildings to protect life and property, and to support the fire department through early detection and control. Students will learn to operate alarm panels, sprinkler risers and pull stations. The objectives for this course were developed based on training objectives prescribed by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and codes and standards established by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
