The mission of the program is to train entry-level massage therapists in the intentional and systematic manipulation of the soft tissue of the body. Students will understand the code of professional ethics and gain knowledge of business skills. Additionally, Moraine Valley offers a supervised student clinic that is open to the public and gives students the opportunity to work with a variety of people. Graduates are prepared and eligible to sit for the exam to obtain Illinois licensure.
Additional Requirements—
- Students must be at least 18 years old to enroll in MAS-101.
- A current health care provider level CPR card and First Aid card are required for MAS-110, (or PEH-170). Successful completion of a criminal background check is required prior to MAS-110.
- Students must earn a minimum grade of “C” (2.0) in each required career course.
