SOC-215 Sociology of Sex and Gender
This course is an examination of sex and gender issues in American culture and other cultures across time. The course will define the concepts of sex and gender, and illustrate the differences between them. The course will focus on both macro and micro strategies for understanding human relationships and identity formation. Students will develop an awareness of how basic social institutions such as family, education, religion, government, and the media shape our collective and individual concepts of gender.
