HUM-120 Women in the Humanities

This interdisciplinary course surveys the artistic and intellectual expression of women, from a variety of Western and non-Western cultures, from antiquity to the present. It will explore significant, representative, and foundational works, figures, ideas, movements and styles in history, literature, philosophy, religion, and the visual and performing arts, particularly within the contexts of gender identity and consciousness and the influence of gender on both the generation and reception of historical, philosophical, religious and artistic expression.
